stop foreclosure, pay accumulated fees
Organized by: Michael Tyrer
Here's the story. Needed to sign up for Obamacare in December 2014. Called PNC Mortgage to tell them we would have to make the payment late. Turned out we owed them (or allegedly anyway) a couple of late fees (less than $200) from several years ago before. They said we weren't ever told about it because they can't attempt to collect it because of bankruptcy laws and we filed for bankruptcy in 2010 or 11 . So technically that counts as one month late and delaying the regular payment apparently counts as being 2 months behind because of the previous $200. They started foreclosure proceedings. We've tried to work this out for 7 months now and just now got a letter with the total amount due. Although we've been setting the monthly payments aside and would have sent them in except they refused to take them they've tacked on late payment fees (even though they could have accepted our payments), legal fees, appraisal fees, etc. We have all the money for the missing payments but don't have the almost $3,000 in tack on crap. I would also like ideas on a creative way to wrap this money up when I send it in. Basically we have the 12,800 in payments (8 * 1600) but they want about 15,975. Any help in closing the gap would be appreciated. And as far as those ideas on how to send it to them, it has to be by money order or cashiers checks so sending them 1,597,500 pennies isn't an option and I'm sure putting it in a plastic baggie in the middle of a cow chip isn't advisable either but that's my best idea yet. I don't know where customer service went but these guys are worthless. Assigned us a "single contact person" to aid us. Never even got to talk to the 1 we had the first 4 months. Assigned us a new one and we only got to talk to them once. You fill out a form asking what you want to do, keep the house or sell the house. We marked keep the house and the options they gave us were sign over the house or short sale. They're official denial stated the following: We are unable to help you because YOU ARE EMPLOYED. No bull. Absolute nightmare over $200 and a delayed payment. Don't know where courtesy and understanding have gone anymore. I liked it when you could do stuff locally, walk in and work it out in 15 minutes. This bull*..* bureaucracy is ridiculous. Thanks for listening to my rant. Any excess funds collected will be used to repair storm damage and make repairs (we have a bit of a backlog due to budgetary problems). Thanks again for letting me vent. Also if you have any truckloads of manure you'd like to drop off in the PNC mortgage lobby..............................................
