BENEFITING: African American Self-Help Foundation
I have returned to my homeland, Ethiopia to improve the health of women, children and environment! The majority of Ethiopian women use fire wood and cook on a 3 stone fire, this results in large amounts of carbon dioxide, monoxide, and particulate matter to be released in their kitchens, and poor heat transfer into the pot being cooked. However a simple stove with good draft can decrease the toxic emissions as well as reduce the amount of wood needed to cook! I am working to reduce the work burden on women and girls by building cleaner burning, and more efficient mud rocket stoves that reduce the indoor air pollution that women and children experience. As well as reduce the amount of wood needed thereby reducing deforestation and toxic smoke for a better future for the soil, women and children! thanks for your support!
