About the Crowdrise:
This effort is to raise registration funds for people wanting to take the 4 Day Street Medic Intensive happening in Tampa on August 3rd through August 6th. Pre-registration and pre-payment is required since the trainer is coming all the way to Tampa from states to the north. 100 percent of the money goes towards the trainer's travel expenses to get here and return from whence they came. We want and need for this training to be accessible to everyone in our community. These funds will cover 6 more registrants joining us.
About the purpose:
It cannot be overstated how CRITICALLY important it is for us to learn how to take care of one another. At gatherings, at demonstrations, in disaster, in protest, in every day life, we need to be our own "911" This is a training that we have been trying to organize here for over a year.
About the logistics:
-You come come for one, two, three or four days of the intensive if your job/school only allows you to do so.
-The training will be held at the Seminole Heights Community Acupuncture Clinic in Tampa's Old Seminole Heights
-The clinic has also generously closed their doors for those four days so intensive trainees can also stay, sleep, eat and exist in the space in the event that you do not live nearby.
-Tampa Food Not Bombs will be serving snacks and meals during the intensive.
-The clinic has a refrigerator and kitchen sink, two bathrooms, a zine distro, large, beautiful gathering spaces and comfortable large recliners.
