We educate Chicago's urban youth to use media arts for self-expression, communication and social change. We've been doing this since 1995, and couldn't be more optimistic that the youth who participate in our programs are using their powers for greatness.
Street-Level Youth Media believes that Chicago students deserve a safe environment for self-expression, critical thinking and advanced learning. We provide the tools needed for youth to address community issues, to access advanced communication technology and to gain inclusion in our information-based society. Our instructors lead free classes and workshops at our new multimedia center and at partnering schools community-based organizations throughout Chicago for youth ages 8-22.
Grants, corporate sponsors and individual donations keep our doors open, but we need to reach more youth and expand our offerings. Help us help young Chicagoans thrive.
