BENEFITING: Penn State Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group
EVENT: ARCHIVED 2017 HFC2C
EVENT DATE: Feb 19, 2017
Cancer kills more children in the U.S. than any other disease, and, of those that survive, 3 out of 5 will suffer long-term side effects from their treatment...yet only 4% of federal funding for cancer research goes towards childhood cancer. I am trying to change this reality, and you can help!
This year, I am fundraising and spreading awareness of childhood cancer by participating in the inaugural Hope From Coast 2 Coast virtual run. This event, coordinated by the Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group, is inspiring Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON) supporters across the country to raise awareness and funds for THON and the Four Diamonds Fund in the fight to conquer childhood cancer. During the week of February 12-19, 2017, I'm pledging to run 46 miles in honor of the 46-hour celebration of hope and life that will take place that weekend on Penn State's University Park campus.
The funds raised by Hope From Coast 2 Coast, which will be presented during THON weekend, will help children and their families both with supportive services and financial assistance to pay for medical costs not covered by insurance. The money raised also funds innovative research at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Children's Hospital to find better treatments and cures for all types of childhood cancer.
I challenge you to run with me by considering making a tax-deductible gift of $46: one for each mile - and each hour of THON. However, donations of all amounts are welcome! And if you are unable to help out financially, good wishes to support me in my fundraising and training efforts are welcome!
Thank you so much for your support as together we race for Hope From Coast 2 Coast...
