Strike Out Hunger Benefit Bowl
EVENT DATE: Jun 16, 2017
Every year Vermonters skip over 1 million meals, in Rutland County alone, there are 8,000 food insecure individuals, including 2,000 children. Hunger is a constant threat for children, for families with inadequate resources, and for seniors on limited incomes. We can come together as a community to make a difference and to have a good time feeding our neighbors.
The Strike Out Hunger Benefit Bowl is a fundraiser for the Rutland Meals Challenge. The Rutland Meals Challenge is an annual food packaging event and ministry of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, in partnership with the greater Rutland community. Hundreds of volunteers have gathered at the church each January to assemble bulk ingredients into packaged meals that are donated to local food shelves. Since its start in 2013, Rutland Meals Challenge has donated over 165,000 meals. We hope to hit the 200,000th mark at our even in January 2018!
Every dollar of your donation will provide 4 meals to our local food shelves. Please consider making a pledge online today with a credit card, or send a check (payable to: "Good Shepherd Lutheran Church" with "Rutland Meals Challenge" on the memo) to: Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1 Hillside Rd, Rutland, VT 05701.
