The Story

FUNDRAISER SET UP DEADLINE: Dec 04, 2012

Stroll for a Cause is an annual event co-hosted by the Pioneros Chapter of Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity, Incorporated. and the Epsilon Tau Chapter of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated. On Monday, December 3rd, 2012 we will be hosting our Fourth Annual exhibition. The event is comprised of guest speakers who educate our audience on a chosen philanthropy and stroll (dance) performances put together by the fraternities and sororities that participate. All of the proceeds collected at the event go to whatever that cause may be; this year we will raise money and awareness for HIV/AIDS prevention as well as provide some of the donations to those in need in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Sandy. The HIV/AIDS epidemic infects and kills millions each year; it has even taken the life of one of LSU’s founding fathers Alberto Rivera. If one has it, we all have it and we cannot be blind of the existence of an evil that has taken so many from us. We must inform and educate the public in hopes of that the general population, in this case college students, can learn the proper precautions, symptoms, and support for this epidemic. The event is usually free so all could enjoy but a suggested donation is $5. We will accept any amount available and it will be donated to Aid for AIDS International in order to encourage and provide some monetary support for future studies. Thank you to the brothers of both respective chapters for continuing their pledge to teach their peers about some of the hardships we as humans deal with on a global scale. The event this year will be held at: Location: NJIT Atrium Time: 7:30pm - 11:00 pm (Starts Promptly)
