BENEFITING: DOMINICAN ACADEMY OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK
ORGANIZER: DOMINICAN ACADEMY OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK
EVENT DATE: Nov 29, 2016
Hi! I'm Elizabeth Sutterlin, a current senior at Dominican Academy.
Over the past four years, DA has given me so many opportunities to express myself through both the written and performing arts. I'm currently the editor of our literary journal, the Muse, and the producer and playwright of our drama club. This year, we're performing my full length play, a historical drama set in France and Germany during the First World War.
Some of my best memories at DA come from drama club. With our infamous stage and a devoted group of cast and crew members, we have been able to put on beloved and memorable performances every year, and have been given the creative freedom to make our own.
Supporting our school in this fundraiser will make it possible for the drama club to exist and thrive long after my friends and I graduate. With your support and generosity, the Dominican Academy drama club will be able to continue its tradition of creative, exciting, and meaningful productions.

Each year we rely on our students, parents, alumnae and friends to provide financial support and help us provide the best possible education to our girls.
- D.A. has been ranked the number six best all girls, Catholic school in New York according to Niche rankings. In addition, we are ranked among the top 100 catholic schools in the country and have five national National Merit Scholars including a National Merit Semi Finalist who placed in the top 1% of students nationwide.
- Our girls will be learning studio art in front of works by the Great Masters. Starting in January 2016, D.A. will partner with The Frick Museum to offer sketching classes taught by art professionals.
- We now offer more advanced placement courses than any other Catholic high school in New York. This year in addition to three new electives including Civil Rights in America, Law and Society, and Introduction to Computer Programming, we now offer Advanced Placement Environmental Science.
- New York City is our classroom. This fall students traveled to the American Museum of Natural History, the Museum of the City of New York, The Paley Center for Media and the Museum of Modern Art for immersion learning trips. Thank you for your continued support of Dominican Academy. We rely on your gift to ensure that the smart girls of today become the intelligent women of tomorrow.
