What does D.A. mean to me?
My experience at Dominican Academy has been and continues to be one blessing after another.
Since coming to D.A., my life has been turned upside down in the best way possible. I've tried my hand at so many new activities, such as performing on a stage in front of actual people, which seemed so improbable for me as a quiet kid in junior high. I've taken a wide range of classes so I can figure out for myself what it is that I'm passionate about. I've become a much better public speaker through being an ambassador for D.A. My confidence has skyrocketed since my freshman year and that is one of the most essential traits that a young woman can possess; this school has given that to me and I am eternally grateful.
Most importantly, I've found a place in a community like no other. I believe the fact that I feel comfortable anywhere and everywhere in the D.A. building is something truly special. I feel a common love and pride for every D.A. girl (cross my heart) and it's apparent that many others feel the same way based on the unbelievably warm atmosphere that pervades through the building.
Coming to D.A. was absolutely the perfect choice. All of the stars seemed to align (cheesy as that sounds) and everything just slotted into place. I am in a place both comfortable enough to call home yet challenging enough to force me to grow and want more for myself.
D.A. has given me so much and now more than ever, I feel an endless gratitude. I'm not only thankful for my role model of a mother being industrious enough to send me here, but I am also thankful to every person that allows us to open our doors every morning.
Thank you, thank you, and thank you for your support of Dominican Academy! Just remember the countless girls in this building who are able to discover who they are and who they want to be, all because of your help and positive sentiment! ♥
