Project Food started in the basement of a church where free meals were provided for the less fortunate. However, for the last seven years, after the meals are served 1st and 2nd year medical students have been providing medical screenings, assessments, and administering basic health care to the indigent population of the Inland Empire FREE OF CHARGE. This Student Run Health Clinic continues to be associated with Project Food and has expanded over the years. In addition to the medical and undergraduate students the volunteers now include community physicians and Kaiser resident physicians who oversee the students. The clinic services have also grown and now offers free dental and pharmaceutical services. Everyone involved is doing this as a volunteer; no pay for the doctors or nurses and no academic credit for the students. In order to maintain this Student Run Health Clinic for its eighth year WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT! Our goal is to raise $10,000 to cover the costs of overhead and supplies. Please donate what you can, every $1 helps.
