Student veterans face many challenges as they transition from combat to college. Not only do they have vastly different experiences than the traditional freshman, but many have been out of the classroom for 5-6 years. Some are coping with the visible or invisible wounds of war. Simply put, simultaneously adjusting to life as a civilian and as a student can be difficult.
SVA was founded by returning Iraq and Afghanistan veterans to help their fellow service members overcome such challenges. Built on the military ethos of leave no one behind, SVA has become the nation’s largest on-the-ground, peer-support network empowering military veterans to achieve their academic goals, graduate with distinction, and lead successful lives.
Your support is deemed mission-critical! All funds will support the amazing work of SVA Chapters in communities nationwide. To see some of these groups in action, check out our Chapter of the Month winners!
Thank you in advance for your support and for helping SVA win the inaugural Honor Those Who Serve challenge. Your generosity will truly empower today’s student veterans to achieve their goals and lead the next great wave of American progress.
SVA's mission is to provide military veterans with the resources and support to succeed in higher education and after graduation.
