Study Abroad Trip to England
Organized by: Allie Moore
This fundraiser is to help send me to Gloucester, England the spring of my senior year for a study abroad trip for credits toward my dual degree in early childhood and special education. There, I will learn more about the British school system and student teach in a special needs school and also in a primary school. The British system differs vastly from the US' system in how instruction is organized. We will visit each school for approximately two weeks, writing reflections of our experiences, interviewing teachers, and taking pictures. Upon return I will prepare a presentation which will be given to the Diversity and Differentiation Class or a different appropriate venue. On the weekends, I will have the opportunity to go on excursions to London, Oxford, and the Cotswolds to become more familiar with the British culture. Additionally, we will have the opportunity to travel around historic and cultural sites. The Gloucester Cathedral, The New Inn, and several churches and schools dating back to the fifth century are nearby and convenient to access. However, while this trip is incredible for my program at UNG, and also my personal growth as a young adult, it is quite costly. I am unable to afford this experience on my own. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all so much!
