Studying Abroad to Change the World
Organized by: Tiffany Carver
EVENT DATE Jul 03, 2015
I am a graduate student pursuing my Master's. The study abroad program I am participating in is in my field of study Speech-Language Pathology. Knowledge gained from this academic trip will allow me to become a phenomenal SLP. During the trip we shall visit hospital, clinics, and religious entities whom do not allow their children to have surgery to repair cleft palates due to their religion. We will be traveling to London, Dublin, and Edinburgh, all of which are on the cutting edge of fascinating new therapy techniques. These countries also have a National healthcare system, which shall benefit myself as our country is implementing the same type of healthcare system. If you have ever know anyone whom has had difficulties in communication, then you know how important a speech-language pathologist is in that person's life. Potential new therapy techniques I learn with the worlds best may change you or the life of a loved one in the future. Please help me fulfill an educational dream, and in the process become a greater therapist, and change the world.
