My name is Andrew Tufano, an 19 year old singer/songwriter. I want to be a musician and human being who gives back to the communities that helped me grow towards achieving my dreams. One of the crucial institutions that enabled me to become a performing songwriter is public school music education.
To give back to Elementary and Middle school music programs that put me where I am today, and to help provide the opportunities I was surrounded with to children currently unable to access music instruments, I am donating 100% of the profits from my newest EP, Dotted Lines, to VH1 Save The Music Foundation. In addition, I'll be performing as much as possible at a variety of venues over the next several months to raise money for the cause.
In elementary school, my music teacher helped me enter the NAfME electronic music talent search, which lead to a whirlwind of events including winning first prize and getting flown to Texas for the awards ceremony in front of thousands at age 11. In middle school I learned guitar, and my school guitar teacher introduced me to the finger-picking technique that now dominates my songwriting and performing styles. Without this music experience from a young age, a career in the music industry would not be a legitimate possibility for me.
Now that I'm looking to the music industry for a career in Nashville, I find myself blessed simply to be here, and think of many who do were not as fortunate as I was to be surrounded by music education from a young age. Music has changed my life, and allows me to live to my fullest potential. Thank you for your support!
