People Near and Dear to Me,
On May 2, my crazy friends and I will be running 191 miles to from Calistoga to Santa Cruz, through 36 cities and across the Golden Gate Bridge, on team Submasters of the Universe to promote and fundraise for organ donation. During the Golden Gate Relay, aka California's Longest Party, aka my favorite weekend of the year, I not only run to have a good time, but to also find a way to subtly remind the people most important to me to consider organ donation and discuss it with their families. Passing the baton to my next team member will symbolize the transfer of an organ from donor to recipient, and I pledge to make that tranfer when my time comes to give a second chance to someone who has a full life ahead of them. Will you?
The Golden Gate Relay is dedicated to Katie Grace Groebner (born 7/16/02) who received a new heart and lungs on 6/14/14. Your support makes this possible for the next Katie. Please discuss your personal wishes regarding organ donation with your family. This will allow loved ones to make an informed decision if you become a potential organ donor. Having been in this situation, it know it makes it so much easier on loved ones when they can say with confidence what they know you would have wanted. Thanks in advance for your support of 125,000 Americans waiting for organ transplants! You pledge to donate your money and your good makes a difference!
PS You can also pay by check made payable to Organs R Us, 570 El Camino Real, Suite 150-330, Redwood City, CA 94063. Please write "Submasters of the Universe" on the bottom of your check. We're in it to win it!
