Aflame! One girl's journey of discovering the light of her soul---- camp performance on Tuesday!
July 28, 2016

We've had such a full, fun summer! Everyday the girls are learning new skills and slowly understanding the message of the camp that art is not See More

THE STORY:

Introducing Gan Yisrael Netzach Performance Art Camp for Girls in Tzfat! Ta-DAA! A month long exciting camp to nurture soulful creative expression and performance art.

Tzfat is one of the 4 holy cities of Israel and "wears the Crown of Mysticism and Art”. That's our claim to fame! That's why you visited Tzfat on your last trip to Israel. And this is the legacy we want to nourish in our kids.

But, as wonderful as this city is, it happens to also be one of the poorest cities in Israel. Unfortunately, that means there are very limited financial resources to support its huge community of children (and certainly no art camps!). Nevertheless, the girls in Tzfat still deserve an awesome summer camp like their peers in America and like we, their mothers, and possibly you, had growing up.

So a few determined mothers took matters in our hands and created Camp Netzach! And it starts in less than 1 week… with more girls (ages 8-13) than we imagined signed up and a full exciting schedule including blocks of time for art, drama, dance, music, powerpoint/photoshop with professional teachers, Adventure Outings, Sleepovers-- and a whole bunch of awesome electives taught by local artist volunteers, all leading up to a final dramatic production for the stage (and hopefully also a short documentary, pending the success of this fundraiser-- we'll share it with you!).

One of the things that is so special about this camp is that we are not only giving the girls an enriching, fun summer experience, but an opportunity to develop a different set of skills than they learn in school. Especially in religious communities here in Israel, girls often don't get the opportunity to shine and get "out of the box creative." These girls are so talented and deserve to have the skills they will depend upon their whole life in order to share their light with the world.

We have already fundraised $15,000!!! (How awesome is that?) to cover most of the high costs of running such a camp. We are on our last push to raise $7000 more to subsidize tuition for 30 campers from financially struggling families. Each family is being asked to pay at least 1/4 of tuition, but they need help with the rest.

These girls would be so thankful and excited if their dream of attending summer camp turns into a reality!

Of course, any amount helps and is greatly appreciated! Also, sharing the campaign with friends on social media really helps us too!

Thank you so much for the time it took to read this and any help you can offer. Many blessings!
