Please support me in riding for TEAM SAGA in El Tour De Tucson. I just want to start off by saying thank you. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and considering making a donation to this great organization, The Southern Arizona Gender Alliance. They are a fantastic non profit organization that helps and supports the Transgender community of Southern Arizona. Last year in 2015 I once again wanted to ride in El Tour De Tucson. I've ridden in El Tour for many years but for the first time in my life I wanted to ride as my true self. You see I started to transition to female in the beginning of 2015 because that's what I always felt I was for most of my life. Cycling has always been my passion ever since I was a child and I first learned to ride a bike. On my bike I felt free. Now much later in my life I'm becoming free, free of the bondage of not being my true self and in the wrong gender. It's been the hardest thing I've ever done! But thanks to friends and SAGA, I'm getting there and it's amazing. During the hardest times of my life last year coming out and trying to find the woman I wanted to be, I can honestly say cycling help saved my life. So this year when my good friend and SAGA board member, Claire Lousie Swinford , asked me to ride El Tour for them, I immediately said yes. That's how Team SAGA was born. As team captain I feel honored and very humbled to do this amazing event for them in the hopes to raise money so they can continue to help my fellow trans brother and sister's in my community like they have helped me. Just recently I was accepted and join a all women's cycling team and I'm once again competing and racing but this time as true self. A dream I thought would never happen. I hope that my riding in El tour will not only raise money for SAGA but that I might inspire others in that you can be your true self and still do the things you love in life.
