Sunshine After the Rain
Organized by: Natasa Popovic
While stories like celebrity fights and dramas appear on the front page of many
media outlets, real fights for life barely make the headlines. There is a battle for survival and hope happening right now in Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia. If you have not yet seen it in the news, you can check out the links on this website.
This fight for survival is very close to my heart. I left my home country, Bosnia and Herzegovina, with terrible images of the war forever engraved in my soul. Everyone from the Balkans has a touching story to tell. Unfortunately today, they have more stories to add. The homes of thousands of Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian people have been destroyed once again. Thousands of people are displaced again. Lives are lost. Tears are being shed. Illnesses are being spread. This time, it's not a fight between people, but of a natural disaster winning the fight over people. The floods and landslides in Bosnia and Serbia are of historical records, and are claiming everything in their path.
I am raising money for the victims of these floods. My three childhood friends are already working hard with their friends on the field. While there are many organizations helping aid the victims, there are still corrupted organizations and people taking advantage of generous donations. This is why I am choosing my three friends whom I fully trust to directly distribute the aid
into the hands of victims. They will personally deliver supplies like diapers, formula, milk, water, food, clothes, and hygiene products into the hands of victims. They will purchase these items with your donations and will bring the items directly to the victims. Not one dollar will go to waste.
This is why a donation of any amount has a significant value. It really, truly does make a difference! Please consider donating any amount and helping the victims. They deserve to see the sunshine again. They need to have the means to "make it again"!
