Who are the Sunshine Kids?
The Sunshine Kids Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to children with cancer. Established in 1982, we are committed to providing positive group activities and emotional support for young cancer patients. We provide a variety of programs and events, free of charge, for kids who are receiving cancer treatments in hospitals across North America. On a national level, we invite kids with cancer from all over the country to attend week long trips to different parts of the U.S. The kids connect with each other, form forever friendships and have experiences they probably wouldn’t be able to afford otherwise. Locally, the Sunshine Kids Los Angeles office visits area hospitals to bring some fun into the lives of those children undergoing treatment. We have also hosted fun outings to various sporting events (Dodger stadim, Lakers, SF Giants, and LA Galaxy games), provided a VIP night at Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus, visited the set of Disney's Hit Show "Wizards of Waverly Place" starring Selena Gomez, and hosted several Art Workshops where local artists can educate our Sunshine Kids on ways to express their strong feelings and emotions.
