BENEFITING: NORTHERN WATERS PARISH NURSE MINISTRY
The Parish Nurse Ministry depends on local grants and donations to perform our services. We provide for the intentional care of body, mind & spirit in our individual faith communities as well as the communities at large. Parish Nurses are registered nurses who have obtained additional training as Faith Community Nurses. We bring a nurses's experience coupled with her faith ministry to the community so that parishioners find the comforting presence of the nurse as they walk through life's joys and sorrows. We help people understand how faith & health are related; teach about health: give health advice: coordinate access to care: organize volunteers: develop support groups and advocate for people in the health care system.
NWPNM serves a six county area of NW WI, which is largely rural and underserved in all facets of life needs. We depend on donations and grants to keep our small non-profit alive. A staff of one provides education, resources and support to the parish nurses who by -and- largevolunteer their time and services. As economic and sociocultural forces change, the demand for a parish nurse services increases at the same time there is less financial resources to support the nurse. Please give as little or as much as you can. Your donation helps to enable this valuable minsitry to continue church by church, community by community.
We are non-denominational but based in the Judeo-Christian healing mission of the church to go out and preach the Kingdom of God and heal. Luke 9:2
