This summer, 7 friends and I will be embarking on a trip to a very special place called Bethany Miracle Village in Uganda, East Africa. The village is in a rural and very impoverished area of the Kasana Luweero Diocese. It is still in its initial stages of development under the leadership of Fr. Joseph Kakooza Nnyanzi, a dear friend of ours. The area struggles with a lack of access to clean water, sanitation, and health care, poor educational facilities and limited opportunities, failing crops due to soil depletion, and many orphaned children. However, there is hope. There is a water collection system to provide for immediate needs and primary and high school education is available. There are plans to improve the water system, supply electricity to the village, provide vocational training, open a health clinic, and finish the school facilities and provide living quarters for students and teachers who are frequently kept away by bad weather, lack of transportation, safety concerns, or family responsibilities. This is a big project, and we're hoping that you will be part of making this miracle a reality. Along with donated school supplies, sports equipment, and medical items that we will be bringing with us from the US, we are hoping to raise enough money to provide 100 mosquito nets and 200 malaria treatments to the people of the village. At $10 and $15 apiece, respectively, we need $4,000 to achieve that goal. Any funds raised beyond this goal will be used toward the projects mentioned above. Thank you for your support of the Bethany Miracle Village!
