BENEFITING: Pomona Ecomomic Opportunity Center
EVENT DATE: Jul 31, 2016
I've given my blood, sweat and tears to the movement. And now, I'm literally putting my body on the line.
On Sunday July 31st, I will be running my first full marathon in the city of San Francisco. It happens one week after the 4th annual fundraiser for the organization I work for, the Pomona Economic Opportunity Center. And for those that can't make it to our fundraiser in person, you can still help us and help this amazing organization in the Inland Empire by supporting my marathon and making a contribution. Every dollar counts! I've dedicated the last decade, since my days doing campus organizing in college for undocumented students, immigrant rights and other social justice issues. - Why San Francisco? Because it's one of few places in CA wherein you can run a marathon in the summer heat without suffering heat exhaustion. - Why PEOC? We are the only day laborer center in the Inland Empire, doing transformative work including community organizing, job development, training for a marginalized immigrant community in the IE. - 100 % of the proceeds will go to the PEOC. - Every little bit counts
