Support For Max & Molly
Organized by: Amy Michelle
June 27, 2016
Max and Molly are two Appaloosa's who came in from a herd on Vancouver Island after their owner passed away. Fortunately, through the community's help, we were able to rehome the other six horses.
Max is a 14 year old stud and Molly is his 17 year old mom. The family has kindly offered to cover the cost of Max's gelding, which will be getting done as soon as we are able. Both of these horses are sweet, but will be quite a challenge for us. Unfortunately, neither has ever been haltered and they have been in the same pen for most, if not all, of their lives. They get agitated when you approach their paddocks and pace constantly. They don't exhibit any aggressive behavior but they have had zero socialization so we are taking things super slow. Despite the ribs showing their weight is progressing well, they have been wormed, are on timothy and sweet feed and have had no diarrhea or any other health problems. We managed to get louse powder on Max as well.
We are hoping the community will continue to step up for the two remaining horses of this herd and help support their recovery and training to get them ready for homes of their own. We are looking to raise $600 per horse to cover dental work, trims, feed and any assistance we may need with their training. Thank you in advance.
