Support Good Samaritan Children's Home
Organized by: Lisa Maina
Good Samaritan Children's Home is an orphanage in Sowetu, Nairobi, Kenya. There are over 70 children under the care of their foster mom, Demaris Abonyo, and two other volunteers. The home receives funds from the government as a recognized orphanage but still, these funds are not enough. With the economic inequality in Kenya, the number of orphans continues to rise and Good Samaritan continues to open its arms to kids in need. After visiting Good Samaritan this past summer, I was able to meet many of the amazing children in this home. Most of these children have either been abandoned by their parents, run away from abusive homes, or had their parents taken away from them. Despite these circumstances, the children focus on the positives in their lives and have become stronger everyday. My goal is $300 USD which when converted to Kenyan Shillings, will be enough to provide the bare minimum for these children. On top of funds, I will be collecting other donations such as clothes, toys and books. With your help, we can provide these children with sufficient food, clean water, clean clothes, and more opportunities to learn. Help me make a difference in these children's lives!
