Support Maria In Her Fight Against Gastric Lymphoma
Organized by: Kara Ariail
Maria Jaldin is a very special person. She is a devoted mother of three children and one grandchild, a loving wife, daughter and friend, and a coalescing force in her extended family here in the United States. Maria has also been our family nanny for nearly five years. Since the day we met her, she has loved our three children like they are her own. Countless friends, neighbors and teachers who have met Maria have told me how lucky we are to have her and they are absolutely right. Maria has not only taken excellent care of my children, she has taken excellent care of me. During moments of intense personal struggle in the time leading up to, and the transition following, my divorce from the children's father, Maria has been there, stepping in whenever and however needed without question. She was a reliable and stabilizing constant for our entire family during a very difficult time. I believe this is because Maria has an extraordinary capacity to care and love. I am so thankful to have been the beneficiary of her special gifts and I honestly do not know how we would have gotten through the past several years without her. This past summer, during what was maybe her second sick day in five years, Maria learned that at the young age of 48, she has gastric lymphoma, a rare form of stomach cancer. Maria is about to begin a rigorous course of chemotherapy and I believe in my heart that she has the strength and resilience to beat this awful disease despite the long, tough road to restored good health. Maria has health insurance, but it does not cover nearly all the expenses she will incur in this critical fight. I do not want Maria to have to take on the added stress of financial worries at a time she should be focused only on getting well. It is very rare that I make these kinds of personal appeals for money, but I ask that you please consider contributing to this important cause. Even the smallest donation will have a meaningful impact. Thank you in advance for your compassion and your support.
