An update from Yambio
December 11, 2018
Hi, my name is Angela and I will be living and working in Yambio, South Sudan for 7 months starting in October. I am a children's librarian by trade, specializing in storytimes, community building, and training library staff. In Yambio, I will be teaching in a primary school and working with former child soldiers. While I am not the typical CMMB volunteer, I am excited to partner with them because their mission is to promote health and wellness in communities with sustainable programs run by local staff.
It is so easy to get discouraged by the rampant lack of empathy in the world right now. I am fighting complacency with a big move, but I encourage you to do so in whatever way you can. Spread a little love!
"Your ordinary acts of love and hope point to the extraordinary promise that every human life is of inestimable value." - Desmond Tutu

CMMB is an NGO focused exclusively on global health care for the world’s poorest populations. We believe in a world in which every human life is valued, and health and human dignity are shared by all. Every year, we are so lucky to have generous, courageous people step forward and volunteer their time and expertise in areas of the world where it is most needed. They leave behind loved ones and employment to support our mission to help vulnerable women, children and families survive.
