If you had the ability to help someone who was homeless.....would you?
If you could provide a meal, give them shelter, or help them find a job....would you?
In Somerset County, we are fortunate enough to have a non-profit organization called Interfaith Hospitality Network, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering homeless families attain and maintain independence. IHNSC has a proud record of providing a permanent, not temporary, solution to homelessness.
Religious congregations and volunteers are the backbone of the agency, providing shelter, meals, financial support and advocacy. Through a structured three-step approach, families receive expert case management and support services from a dedicated staff of social workers and mental health counselors focused on the goal of achieving independence. To continue this valuable and necessary resource for homeless families, IHNSC is in desperate need of your financial support!
So, if you answered yes to the questions above, this is how you can help!
$15 could provide a one-month's supply of feminine hygiene products for a woman in the emergency shelter.
$25 could provide seasonal shoes for a child in the emergency shelter (snow or rain boots).
$50 could provide cleaning supplies for a family moving into their own apartment (mop, broom, bucket, paper towels, disinfectants)
$75 could provide employment clothing and shoes for an adult in the emergency shelter.
$100 could provide a one-month supply of diapers and wipes for one child in the emergency shelter.
$200 could provide one year's supply of first aid supplies and over-the-counter medication for a family in the emergency shelter.
$300 could provide funds for the High School Equivalency Test prep and test cost for two adults in order to secure their high school diploma to increase employability.
$400 could provide driving lessons and licensure costs for a client who needs a driver's license to secure employment.
$500 could provide one-month of childcare for one child in the Daycare Plus program.
$1000 could help offset the cost of a desperately needed new van to transport clients to doctor appointments, job training, and GED/college courses.
