BENEFITING: 100 BLACK MEN OF THE BAY AREA INC
Team Oakland was invited to participate in the International Children's Games in 2015. They represented Oakland among 84 other cities from six continents at the games in Alkmaar, Netherlands where they took first place in the girls 4 X 100 meter relay race and third in the girls 100 meter sprint.
More than 1,500 young athletes from all over the world took part in this event. The International Children's Games was created to convey messages of friendship and peace to the whole world, as well as the values of sport and the Olympic spirit.
Team Oakland is comprised of track and field athletes from the 100 Black Wings. Ten students from the Bay Area are selected to represent the City of Oakland in this year’s Games. Team Oakland athletes are selected based on their athletic abilities as well as their academic performance, and community service. Our athletes (candidates) and coaches are working hard to prepare for this prestigious competition. The team departs for New Taipei City, Taiwan on July 11 th and will return on July 18th.

- 2015 Netherlands: Gold 4 x 100 meter relay and Bronze 100 meter sprint
- 2013 Canada: Gold and Silver 100 meter sprint
- 2011 Lanarkshire Scotland: Silver Medal 4 x 100 meter sprint
- 2009 Athens Greece: Bronze 4 x 100 meter relay
