Together we can make a difference!
Please support me on my fundraising ride on May 31st, a few days before my 70th birthday, to benefit Bridgepoint: Active Healthcare, whose slogan is “making lives better”. I will be bicycling 250 kms in two days; my ability to ride at all, is in large measure due to the excellent care I received at Bridgepoint, nearly 10 years ago when I was recovering after a debilitating injury. Needless to say, Bridgepoint has made my life immensely better and I am eternally grateful and support the work of Bridgepoint. Based on my personal experience I know your tax deductible donation will make the lives of many, much better.
In 2004, after a cycling mishap, I had a complex fracture of the acetabulum requiring more than 9 hours of surgery, 12 units of blood and the superb skills of my surgeon, Dr James Waddell. When I arrived at Bridgepoint I was totally incapacitated, unable to move on my own and incapable of performing the basic bodily functions and hygiene for myself. I was in rehab at Bridgepoint for nearly two months and returned for several months as an outpatient for further treatment.
Perhaps there is no better testament to the quality and success of the care I received at Bridgepoint, than the fact that during the last 10 years, I have cycled tens of thousands of kilometers, and my wife Alison and I just returned from a completely self-supported ride from Singapore to Bangkok, a distance of 2,800 kms.
Please give generously so that many other people can lead better lives.
