As many of you know, I am very passionate about health & fitness. For the most part I try to keep a healthy diet, visit the gym on a regular basis, and play tennis or go hiking when I can. My interest in running started just over a year ago. At that time half a mile was all I could tolerate. Endurance was definitely not my forte. Initially, every run brought about the usual symptoms of a heart attack - chest pains & shortness of breath. Now, after a year of training, I've managed to complete 3 half-marathons and a Tough Mudder. I am looking to challenge myself at The New York Half-Marathon - the biggest race I've yet to participate in (and to hopefully set a PR!).
I joined the squad in 2008. Over the past few years I've had the incredible opportunity to be able give back to my community. I volunteer with a team of kind-hearted individuals willing to put the needs of our patients above their own. However, as with any 100% volunteer organization, we rely solely on charitable donations. Please support the East Brunswick Rescue Squad by sponsoring me as I run the 2013 New York Half-Marathon on March 17!
Thank you all in advance,
