In just a few days, we will watch or run the Boston Marathon. I am fortunate to be able to participate this year on behalf of Boston Medical Center
As you know hospitals like Boston Medical Center provide critical services for the neediest children and families in our region (as do the hospitals I am currently affiliated with - Milford Regional Medical Center, MGH, and Shriner Burns Hospital).
Even in this mecca of health care, most institutions and health care providers are under an unprecedented amount of stress, as they try to continue to provide the level of care we sometimes take for granted.
While I haven’t trained as much as I did when I ran on behalf of the Rodman Fund in 2011 and my patient partner Alicia Barrett and MGH’s Oncology department in 2012, I believe I can still get through it this year for another worthy cause.
Thank you for any help you provide as I aim to reach this year’s fundraising goal of $5000.
(Alicia is doing well, but treatment has not been as successful as we hoped. If you were involved in supporting her in 2012, her webpage is : www.lotsahelpinghands.com).
