Support Freedom Haus
Organized by: Jen Mele
My new years resolution was to run a half marathon. I figured by December 31, 2015 I could possibly, just maybe, be ready, and if not I could just push it off til next year. However, God had another plan and presented me with the opportunity to not only complete my new years resolution ahead of schedule, but more importantly, raise some money to support an amazing place called the Freedom Haus.
Freedom Haus is a unique non-profit organization created specifically for the purpose of offering programs that help teens with the struggles and temptations faced in their generation. It creates a safe, structured and confidential environment for teenagers to gather and learn foundational principles for healthier living and improved life choices.
Freedom Haus is run by a group of dedicated adult volunteers, including my amazing sister Kim, who struggled most of her life because programs like Freedom Haus were just were not around to support her.
So on April 25, 2015 I will be running the Frankfort Half Marathon in an effort to support Freedom Haus and its continued goal of bringing programs to the community that will benefit our kids. I am asking for your donation. Any amount can make a difference in the life of a struggling teen, so please donate today. And say a prayer for me while you are at it that I don't drop dead during this race!
Freedom Haus meets every Wednesday night from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at The HUB 1303 Schoolhouse Road, New Lenox, IL 60451.
