Supporting Homeless Refugees
Organized by: Molly Kyle Nixon
Over 300 refugees are living in the streets of Thessaloniki, Greece. Their suffering continues on the doorsteps of Europe, as the world continues to bat an eye.
As we walk through the parks we are greeted with smiles from small children, pleas from mothers for food to nurture their young ones, cries from elderly women for a shower. We see legs covered in bug bites, disheartened human beings, and an overall lack of humanity.
Where is the world? How can we let this suffering continue on the doorsteps of Europe? We simply can not.
We are collaborating with independent volunteers in order to bring basic necessities to these refugees in need. Our current mission is to bring bananas to the people each morning, and to coordinate at least one warm meal per day. We are also distributing wipes, diapers, bug spray, sunscreen, etc.
Please help us to provide these families with nourishment to get them through the day. Together we can make a difference.
For 18 Euros you can purchase enough bananas to provide breakfast for 100 refugees. For 55 Euros you can provide enough bananas for all 300 people living in the park.
