RSVP to the Welcome Home Party for Chris!
August 13, 2016
From Shelly Watts (Founder of Thoughtful Missions): Lexie is a dear friend of mine. We had our babies 3 days apart. I'm sure others have dibs but I'm convinced little miss Ro will be my son's girlfriend. I love this family.
We recently went to little miss Ro's first birthday party. Such a sweet 1-year-old. We showed up to the house to find out that Chris was not able to make it because he was in the hospital. My heart just wept for this family.
Chris was admitted to the hospital and required surgery. The surgery was more intense than they anticipated, so the days following were full of ups and downs. He has been in the hospital for THREE WEEKS since his initial admission.
It has most certainly been a rough 3 weeks, but we are so thankful Chris is FINALLY showing signs of improvement and recovery! He is officially off his pain pump and his body is beginning to wake up and adjust to the internal changes. His pain is managed and he is starting foods again. Chris is ready to come home - we are praying for discharge soon!
Now, here's where I come in... how can I call myself a professional fundraising consultant if I can't raise money for the things that matter the most, like my friends and family? I consider them my family.
Due to Chris' hospital stay, they will have medical bills that need to be paid. Chris has Crohn's Disease and stress can make the signs and symptoms worse and may trigger flare-ups. I want Chris to be able to make a full recovery and not be stressed about the looming bills. Please join me in supporting the May family. I know they would do the same for me and each and every one of their friends and family members.
I pray the support of the Church showing their love for this family magnifies the love of Christ in us.
