Two weeks ago Scott's wife, Aimee Riley went home to the arms of Jesus, after an almost two year battle with breast cancer. They have three wonderful children, Sophia who just turned 10, Louis 6, and Peter who is 3. Aimee was a helper, a healer, an encourager, a nature lover, kindred spirit, adventurer, fellow home educator, feisty, strong, humble, devoted mama and unapologetic Jesus lover, who danced like no one was watching, lavished her people with love and cared for the needs of others. It has been a very hard thing to walk through this with them but also an honor. Seeing Scott love and serve her was a beautiful thing to behold. As her family navigates this new normal without her, there are many needs that have arisen. I am close enough as his sister to notice the additional stress this adds. Scott works for himself tiling so any lost work is unpaid. I would love to see what we can raise together with God's help, to provide for the needs of this first year as they mourn the loss of his wife and their mother. Some of the additional expenses in addition to the norm are funeral costs, additional school tuition, childcare etc. Another area of need is money to help renovate a space for extended family to stay when they are there to help him, as his house does not have guest space. Additional funds will hopefully allow him to gently transition to single parenting without being stressed about missing work here and there when needed. We are overwhelmed by the ways people have been woven into this story to love and help bear these burdens. We thank you in advance for giving during this heart wrenching time!
