BENEFITING: AUTISM SPEAKS
EVENT DATE: Jun 01, 2014
I am participating in the Raleigh, NC half ironman in June of 2014.
A half ironman is a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile bike ride, and a 13.1 mile run completed over a span of 8 1/2 hours.
Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working with many incredible families with children who are affected by autism spectrum disorder (ASD). ASD is a debilitating neurodevelopmental disorder that affects social interactions and everyday life for those that have it. At this time, there is no cure.
I would like to raise $1000 to go towards supporting the organization Autism Speaks, a wonderful organization that provides resources for those affected by autism.
Autism Speaks is an autism advocacy organization in the United States that sponsors autism research and conducts awareness and outreach activities aimed at families, governments, and the public.
If you would like to read more about Autism Speaks, you can visit www.autismspeaks.org
I hope you will help me reach my goal, and I hope to see you in Raleigh!
