SUPPORT JOSCALYNNE'S RECOVERY
Organized by: Shawna Regan
Joscalynne, a 4th grader, was diagnosed with Achondroplasia (the most common for of dwarfism) since birth. Over the past year, Joscalynne had frequent back pain which limits the amount of walking she is able to do. She has been relying on her scooter to get around. In hope to alleviate her pain, Joscalynne recently underwent surgery on April 23rd for Osteotamy (which is taking parts of the bones out to manipulate other bones) on both of her hips. In addition, she had her hips rotated 35 degrees. Without this surgery, she would not be able to walk in one year. Now that the surgery is over, Joscalynne needs 24/7 care for her recovery over the next 2 months. Shawna is a single mom and soul care taker for Joscalynne and Airah, Joscalynne's younger sister. In order for Shawna take care of Joscalynne during this recovery period, Shawna would have to take time off work without pay. Since she is the only source of income for her family, we are asking for your support to help this lovely family. Joscalynne strength and courage has touch many people including myself. She has gone through 4 surgeries so far and has endure everything that life has given her. We are hopeful that this surgery will relieve the back pain so that she can continue to walk.
