Support Nora to Help Disabled Kids in North Africa
Organized by: Jorge Socorro
Nora is a tireless social volunteer helping thousands of rejected and forgotten disabled kids in North Africa. Her continuous hard work for 14 years alongside with her team (from DCPM NGO), has led to achieve what was unachievable in the past, including the following awesome milestones: - Achieve strategic alliances with Regional and Local governments for the development of Rehabilitation Centers for the Disabled in poor regions and towns that were never considered or taken care by authorities. - Help change the way of thinking about the disabled on their families, parts of the society and even region and local governments, in a society were the disabled are unvalued and a curse that came over to their families, to now consider them as someone worthy in the eyes of God and society, that must be treated with respect and love, and helped with physical and emotional treatment, involving families in their therapies. - The construction and supervision of six big Regional Rehabilitation Centers, with total support from National, Regional and Local governments. These are not basic rehabilitation centers. They oasis of love and hope, where thousands of kids are received and treated according to their physical and mental condition and age. They are taken care with dignity, affection and love by a qualified and trained personnel in a conditioned and equipped location for the patients well-being. - Open Occupational Training Centers for the Disabled, where hundreds of North African teens and young adults are trained and educated with no cost for them, in areas like: Leather work, carpentry, shoe making and repair, ceramics, computer science, etc. where they develop an occupation that can generate funds and gives them fulfillment and strengthen their personal dignity. These and many other things is what Nora with the help of God and her team have achieved and continue achieving to help many needed and forgotten children, teens and young adults in poor areas of North Africa. But as a volunteer for an international non-profit NGO in a undeveloped region, Nora must find her own financial support to be able to keep working and sustaining herself. This is the main reason of this fundraising, to help Nora cover her basic needs. Her expenses are basic necessities: Food, housing rent, transportation (gas, spare parts, vehicle repairs), medication and medical care, basic seasonal clothes if necessary, etc. Nora supervises a geographic region with distant towns in a mostly desert geography and climate and also other populations in mountainous areas, for which is very important that she keeps her small vehicle in good shape. Also, due to so many hours of work a day she must do and supervise, it has taken toll on her physical health, and in different times she has had to go to the doctors for care. But reality is that all expenses above are not covered many times, and she must sacrifice or omit part of her needs due to lack of finances. But Nora never sacrifices her work, not the physical and spiritual needs of the disabled, hopeless and needy from that region. Please join and help Nora on her important work. Be a part of the work that is changing lives of many in North Africa. May God richly bless you as you do so!
