My name is Anne Guion and I am a pediatric nurse headed to work with Catholic Medical Mission Board in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere with much of the population in need of basic healthcare. It is also a country with a vibrant culture and much to give! As a volunteer with CMMB, I will be working for and with the Haitian community, increasing access and improving care provided to the women and children of this beautiful island. One of my favorite quotes is this: “Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year but when you volunteer, you vote every day about what kind of community you want to live in”. It is my hope that I will be able to do my part, little by little, to improve our world community! Thank you for your donations and your prayers!

CMMB is an NGO focused exclusively on global health care for the world’s poorest populations. We believe in a world in which every human life is valued, and health and human dignity are shared by all. Every year, we are so lucky to have generous, courageous people step forward and volunteer their time and expertise in areas of the world where it is most needed. They leave behind loved ones and employment to support our mission to help vulnerable women, children and families survive.
