We are raising fund to help out our friend Scott McKinley pay off his medical bills, which he accrued during cancer treatments. Unfortunately, he is being forced to give up his house that was his grandparent's home in order to get his medical bills straightened out and to pay off the house lien he had to obtain.
Scott is a Scottish author (AB McKinley) of indie romances, cover model, and personal trainer. Scott is originally from Glasgow and a former member of the SAS (British Special Air Service), in which he served for over 10 years. His time in the military was cut short due to being injured in an aircraft accident. He lost several colleagues in the accident; he was severely injured with a broken back and was paralyzed from the waist down. He was told by doctors that it was unlikely he would never walk again and to be prepared for life in a wheelchair. After months of rehabilitation and 3 years of physical therapy, walkers, crutches, and braces he was able to walk again. During this time, his wife of 3 years decided she didn’t want to deal with the situation and filed for divorce. Needless to say, this was a tough time but he eventually got through it.
Scott has dual American/Scottish citizenships. He moved to the US after recovering from his accident. He needed to earn a bit more money, so he took a security job in the Middle-east to be able to build a better life for himself. During his assignment he was in a car that exploded via a car bomb. Scott suffered a traumatic brain injury, broken bones, and burns. After several months of recovery, he healed and continued to move forward with his life.
During a routine check-up for the skull fracture and other injuries, the doctor’s discovered he had a tumor in his brain. Although they found it in the early stages, he had to go through chemo to get rid of the tumor with no health insurance!!!! Unfortunately, he is being forced to give up his house, which was his grandparent's home in order to get his medical bills straightened out and paid off, but he is still a little short.
In Mid-March of 2014, Scott went back to the Middle-east again on another assignment in the attempts of trying to pay off his medical bills and house lien. Scott has touched a lot of lives. Even though he has gone through what most of us will never go through he always has a great sense of humor and is always looking to help others. Please consider helping him out by donating to his cause.
