This December I’m doing something I’ve never done before. I’m traveling to rural India for two weeks, to the town of Varni, to join with others in learning what we can about how basic health and access to medical care affect school success for children.
To do this, Healthy Scholars Foundation, a non-profit organization I’m volunteering with, is going to offer free medical screenings to 2,000 school children and their families. Volunteer doctors will provide complete medical examinations, but Healthy Scholars must provide them with supplies and facilities.
This holiday season, I'm asking for your help in providing this medical care to students who wouldn't otherwise have this opportunity. For $10 you can sponsor a student to receive an examination that includes vision, hearing, blood work, dental, and lifestyle assessment.
Your support will have a lasting impact, by helping us to understand the impact of simple lifestyle changes and medical treatment on a child's ability to get a good education. Help us out with a $10 donation to sponsor a child today. It's easy, just click the link below to get started.
