Support the Hough JROTC Program
Organized by: Ott Siebert
At Hough High School, our goal every year is to run a first class JROTC program. To do that, we need your help. Our funding from the school district gives us a good start but does not cover everything we need to make our cadets' year a truly memorable one. This fundraiser will help us to offset the cost of our upcoming year as well as pay for our competition fees and planned meet expenses. We want to give our student cadets the best opportunity to succeed and create as many new memories as possible. The Hough JROTC Program is asking for your assistance to help make this possible. Any donation is greatly appreciated and a tax deductible receipt will be issued for your support. The Hough High School Junior ROTC is designed to teach high school students the value of citizenship, leadership service to the community, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment, while instilling in each cadet healthy self-esteem, teamwork and self-discipline. Our JROTC program prepares high school students for responsible leadership roles while making them aware of their rights, responsibilities and privileges as American citizens. Additionally, the JROTC provides instruction and rewarding opportunities that will benefit the student, community and nation for decades. Our cadets collectively give back to our surrounding area through a host of community service activities which include reading to elementary school students, volunteering for "A Soldier's Child Foundation", participating in the annual Veterans Day Parade, and much much more. Simply stated, the program prepares our cadets for success after high school. The Hough Huskies JROTC program accomplished many great things last year, some of them including: ~ Second Place Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) Orienteering Meet ~ Third Place Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) Athletic Field Day Competition ~ Fifth Place Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) Annual Superintendent's Cup (out of 20 CMS JROTC Schools WE NEED YOUR HELP! Except for classroom facilities, our unit receives minimal money from the school or county to support our week to week cadet and team expenses. The large majority of our program's funding continues to be generated from the cadets, their parents, and the support and generosity within the Huskies community. This supporting cast is a critical part in the success of our program. This fundraiser will help us pay for the budgeted expenses for the upcoming year including competition costs, meet expenses, cadet meals during events, and planned educational trips. Along with my staff, I would like to personally thank everyone for supporting our program and invite each of you come watch us this year. So please consider a tax deductible donation to Hough High School JROTC. Any donation is great appreciated and a tax deductible receipt will be issued for your support.
