We just published a book with writing and artwork by fifty artists. Michael Kaiser, President of the Kennedy Center, wrote that the book, “takes you on a fascinating journey through the minds of dozens of artists.” With your support in the coming year we'll create an e-book version of the recently-published book, connecting readers to galleries of images, clips of choreography, and videos of poets reading their work in addition to the written content.
Last year Day Eight completed a multi-year dance project focused on the issue of security (Quis Custodiet; “a powerful performance” – the Washington Post, Sept. 2011) and in the coming year we’re starting a new project in partnership with local non profit arts organizations and the DC Environmental Network. The project will highlight environmental issues and resource creation of environmental art.
Your donation will allow Day Eight to continue publishing the arts in DC, and to create performances like Quis Custodiet. Thank you for your support!
