Support the Shubin Family
Organized by: Jennifer Neuhaus Castillo
This page was created solely by friends of the Shubin family near and far that have expressed a specific request to bless the Shubin family during this difficult time in a tangible way. Foremost the Shubin family continues to covet you prayers on Brent's behalf. We have seen God work in amazing ways already and ask that you continue to lift up prayers on his behalf.
On December 10th, Brent & Tracy were ready to go to San Diego for a work AVID Conference. After visiting a doctor in the a.m. about Brent's double vision and drooping eye lid issue, they decided not to go and use the time to make some more appointments and address this serious issue. Upon developing a fever in the evening and a worsening cough we called the doctor that we saw in the morning. He suggested they go to emergency at UCLA since they have a world renowned eye center. Upon entering they detected heart issues and kept Brent overnight conducting all sorts of tests. The next day Brent was admitted and the tests continued. In the last week Brent has had a cardiac arrest and a ventricular tachycardia. On December 15th, he was transferred from UCLA Santa Monica to UCLA Ronald Reagan (appropriate for him) It has been a great trial for him with tubes everywhere, having to lay flat on his back and multiple procedures. But, in all of this with God's faithfulness, and the expertise of outstanding doctors, the family continues to be hopeful for a full recovery. As of December 18th, they received a diagnosis. It is giant cell myocarditis. He is still not in a condition to be receiving visitors, but they continue to covet your prayers.
Many friends have asked for a tangible way in which they can offer support. Tracy and family have been staying nearby at a hotel just blocks from the hospital. We would love to bless them with this love gift so they would be able to continue to stay on at the hotel if they so chose as to avoid the commute from Downey to Westwood daily.
Brent is beloved by his family, friends & community. Thank you in advance for your continued love, support and most importantly your prayers!
