Who We Are
The five of us are undergraduate students from Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, and Vietnam, studying at the Asian University for Women (AUW), the first all-women international liberal arts university in South Asia.
What We Are Doing
Relying almost entirely on donations, AUW provides generous scholarships to 99 percent of its students. We are raising funds to support more young women from Asia to come pursue their bachelor’s degree at AUW.
Why Educating Asian Women?
Many Asian women are deprived of education. Not only can educated women improve their own life and take better initiative to educate their children, but also contribute to the development of their communities.
Why Liberal Arts Education?
Comparing with the traditional education curriculum in Asia, liberal art curriculum focuses on problem solving, teamwork, and critical thinking skills while provides students with variety of courses from different disciplines. In contrast to the passive learning environment in the traditional Asian education system, the multicultural and small-sized classroom at AUW provides ample opportunities for students to raise their voices to initiate a discussion. As a result, AUW students are well-prepared to pursue their own personalized career goals, become responsible citizens and compassionate leaders.
How You Can Create an Impact
Your donations to this campaign will help more Asian women to pursue their higher education at AUW on scholarships. 15000USD covers tuition fee, accommodation, food, books, school supplies, and other facilities for one student in one year.
If you can’t contribute, you can still help by sharing our campaign Email your friends/family about what we are trying to do and share our video on Facebook/Twitter.
