Ted Pawela's Fundraiser:

Surf for Cystic Fibrosis

In recent years, doctors in Australia realized that cystic fibrosis (CF) patients who surfed had significantly healthier lungs than non-surfing CF patients. They found that the inhalation of saltwater mist hydrates the lining of the lungs and actually assists in the elimination of bacteria-laden mucus. As a result of this discovery, a hypertonic saline solution was developed to mimic a “surf session” for CF patients to use on a daily basis. This relationship between CF and surfing has sparked the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s San Diego team to create the country’s FIRST Surf for CF event! Hosted at La Jolla Shores, this two-part event will feature a morning of surf lessons for 25 CF heroes (children and adults with CF) followed by an open-registration team style surf contest. Please join our team - La Furia Espuma or "The Foam Fury" - and help add tomorrows for people with Cystic Fibrosis! We would truly appreciate if you would generate some good will and good karma by making a tax deductible donation on behalf of our team that will help to fight this disease. By becoming a member of our team and making a donation, you will help support lifesaving research and medical programs and the search for a cure. Together, we can add tomorrows to the lives of people with CF! Thank you so much, and Aloha! La Furia Espuma (Ted Pawela, Jack Pawela, Zach Stapleton, and Will Youngblood)
