BENEFITING: LITTLE TRAVERSE BAY HUMANE SOCIETY
Jetta, a two and a half year old Great Pyrenees/Shepherd mix, arrived at LTBHS shortly after she was rescued as a stray. We knew this girl was sweet and loving right away—she enjoyed being with people and was extremely affectionate. However, we quickly noticed something else about Jetta; she walked funny. We were worried that she might be in pain, and it was an enough of a concern that we immediately scheduled an appointment with our veterinarian to have her evaluated. After Jetta’s visit, we were given some bad news: she had been diagnosed with a femoral head ostectomy, which might have been the result of her being hit by a vehicle at some point. This diagnosis meant she would require surgery in order to fix her hip and ultimately live a happy and healthy life. We are told her surgery will cost around $1,400, which includes the procedure itself in addition to anesthesia and medication afterwards. Even though this is a substantial amount of money, we are told that with plenty of rest and TLC, Jetta will make a full recovery. We truly believe this special girl is worth saving and hope you’ll agree. Please join us in helping fund Jetta’s surgery which will give her a life free of pain and the second chance she so deserves!
