Surgical Gloves for Somalia
Organized by: Jared Sullivan
Surgical gloves are the best way to prevent the spread of infectious diseases in a hospital (next to washing hands and proper surgical site disinfectants). And they are inexpensive. The patients in the Keysaney hospital in Mogadishu, Somalia are supported by the International Red Cross. This fundraising goal is specifically designed to raise enough money to buy and ship 6,000 pairs of surgical gloves! (that is 16 cents a pair). The World Health Organization has a PDF devoted to the proper use of surgical and medical gloves that we will copy and include with every box of gloves.
