THE STORY:

Help Me Save Lives and Provide Insight

My name is Brandon McConnell. As an ex-cop I have a passion for bringing light and perspective into the world of police interactions with the end goal of keeping both civilians and officers safe. The senseless tragedies we’ve been bombarded with on the news have to change and I know the information we share will have an enormous impact. Originally the thought was to go into schools speaking live to as many kids as possible. After contemplating how to have an even greater impact the idea took off into the digital realm. Bringing “Survive the Badge” into a state-of-the-art online training program will reach an entire generation rather than limiting the message to those in an audience.

How the money will be spent:

The two largest budget items for this project are video production and web development. Your financial contribution will help to create the online training program ensuring the look, feel and functionality are top-notch.

How it works:

Using compelling stories and practical demonstrations from certified police trainers, we will take our participants inside a world they would otherwise never have access to. They will learn the mindset of an officer, four steps they can take to keep from getting hurt, and hear personal stories from my experience in dealing with citizens who didn’t know how close they came to a horrible tragedy. Our goal is to help users to be mindful of their own actions and use simple techniques to stay safe when interacting with police officers.

What you receive for your contribution:

For every $5 that is donated, access to this material will be granted to one user. Have a group of 20 kids you want to see trained? Simply donate $100 and when we go live you will receive an email containing 20 access codes. For obvious reasons this benefit cannot be awarded to those who choose to donate anonymously.

When will it be ready?

We want to under-promise and over-deliver on this. Keeping that in mind, we will complete this task by the end of 2016 and hopefully sooner. Much like anything, it depends on how much and how quickly capital is raised. Please donate today and help this message reach as many people as possible!

It's about time someone took the initiative to educate people, especially kids, about how to behave when dealing with police. I hope everyone can find a little bit for this worthy cause. 3 years ago
