Surviving Through Matthew
Organized by: Jamaal Sumter
Me and my 2 kids, 5 & 3, had to evacuate our home in South Carolina because of the bad storm that hit the other day so we drove here to Georgia to the only place I knew we could stay and be safe because I don't have the money to pay for motel rooms like all the other people do. That's the only option I had due to all the overcrowding at the gathering areas, price gouging on food and gas that is going on right now down there, I payed $7.00 a gallon for gas on my way out of South Carolina.. Our home is flooded and im planning on driving back down soon and hopefully if we can round up enough money we are going to rent a uhaul truck and I'm loading what we have left of our belongings and moving back home to Georgia. South Carolina has been nice but this storm has opened my eyes and put me and my children at risk that could be avoided if we move over here where its safe from storms and the coast. My mother needs me here also to help take care of her so I've decided to make the move I've so wanted to make for a long time. I asking the public to come together and help us with anything you could help with, not asking for pity or charity, I'm asking for the community to stand behind me and my children in this time of need. I had to spend our only money for us to survive this month on evacuating because of the hurricane, I'm at a dead end here and I'm calling for the community and the public to understand our situation and pitch in and donate whatever you can afford to give, even if its fifty cents, every donation will be a blessing. I know in my heart everyone will come together for us and help my little family with this..you can send funds to my PayPal account just use my email on here to send it, or buy and load a MoneyPak card at any Walgreens, WalMart, foodlion, dollar general and email the code to me.. Everything and all responses will get a special thank you from us, I know my fellow Americans are behind us!!!
